My Rusalka is about the tightness in your chest. The shock of love and the chest pains that come with being thrust into the dark cold water which is both clarifying and frightening at the same time. Loving someone so much you would put their happiness over your own despite it bringing about both of your dooms. Humans are so predictably human.

My Rusalka is about not being able to be in love. Of being skinned and giving the thing you hold most precious to someone who would easily cast it aside. Don't worry, someone else needs the attention more, you don't mind right? Complacency and the harm it causes, the rage and despair it fuels.
